Bio

I was born in Mons (Belgium) in January 1978 but I’ve been living in Brussels since 1996. Mum of a brilliant young adult, I’m currently working as a communication & projects manager in the social field (I have degrees in journalism & children’s rights). I’m also, since 2020, a yin yoga teacher (and now hatha & vinyasa too). I aim through this blog to share with you my passions, for (yin) yoga, writing (poetry, mostly), photography and making the world a better place in general, through art and individual choices and actions. The causes I fight for, more specifically, are women’s rights, children’s rights and environment/animals. I’m also fascinated by our soul’s mission, by our links with the Universe and larger forms of Consciousness, by spirituality in many dimensions. Still a lot to learn on that path ! Read you soon and I hope you enjoy this blog.

*See also associations I support a bit more actively and I might often talk about : GAMS (Groupe pour l’abolition des mutilations sexuelles féminines) and Femmes & Santé.

“If I had been told,
That my journey would be this one,
I would have followed it,
I would have walked, even under the rain.”

And the story behind the writing…

Sometimes life shakes us. Life comes to yell at us: “It’s time! Time for you to remove all the masks, all the layers, time for you to dare to reveal yourself. Show yourself, illuminate this world with your light.” We spend years away from ourselves, we spend years without being aware of all that is there, deep down, buried for so long, waiting patiently… For the spark to come back. Everything we live, all the hardships, fortunately the moments of happiness too… Everything prepares us for that moment, for that awakening… Nothing is incidental. Everything is essential. And significant.
For me, it happened in February 2015. A cry from the heart, or rather from the soul. A “Now, you have to listen to yourself, to hear everything that’s sacred in you, to let it express itself fully”. It was not simple, it couldn’t be done smoothly, nor could it be followed by immediate effects … It would take me more time before I can actually live this awakening, this upheaval in me, this return to my true and authentic self, to my nature… The writing came back without warning. I was already writing a lot when I was a teenager, then life put all that creativity to rest… Rest only. I had so much to express as I approached my 40th birthday, and after all these bits of life lived here and there, that since that morning of January 2017, it didn’t stop. I started writing in English first, my second language of heart, then in French, and finally I wrote bilingual poems.
The poems presented in my book and soon here are a small part of what has been expressed so far. My book was published in December 2018 (available on Amazon or Kobo). The photographic expression was then added (until 2021), thanks to magnificent and nourishing collaborations, like a call always more insistent, a call to stop hiding. To finally dare to be myself, and to accept I can be vast and multiple (just as we all can be). Some poems are also accompanied by works of art of beautiful artists encountered during my journey. I thank them all too.
